Blue Forest Gift Baskets is a Halifax based company that sells gift baskets.
Blue Forest Gift Baskets needed a website where they could display their various baskets and include a shopping cart. Tower Software created a dynamic site that would allow BFB to log in to an admin area and enter the baskets and associated details for each. This data was then stored in a MS Access database. Each basket could have one or more models, such as small, medium, large, with an associated price for each model. Each basket could be assigned to one or more page categories for display. For example, a Coffee Mug basket could be in both the Father's Day and Mother's Day categories.
The public site would allow a customer to choose an occasion and would see the baskets that are in that category. Each basket has an 'add to cart' button that will add the item to the shopping cart when clicked. When the customer has selected the basket(s) they wish to purchase, they click the 'checkout' button and are forwarded to the shopping cart page. Here the customer can choose the model and the quantity. This order is emailed to BFB where it is received and the purchaser is contacted by BFB for credit card information and confirm the purchase.
